Blue Shift II

Blue Shift II continues the enquiry into space, connection and disconnection taken up in the earlier work of the same name. Elements of the space, however, have changed. The chair is no longer a point of connection - neither for a person nor an institution - but has collapsed, isolated, to the floor. A glass stone makes an appearance as a superficially familiar yet radically alien object.

As in the earlier work, the architecture of the room asserts boundaries to the work while the strips that intersect across the room ambiguously divide or hold the walls to each other. The strips rush past the observer and hint at a journey to (or from) the world outside the walls.

Site-specific mixed media installation, with natural light, chair, neutral density filter, frost filter, glass. Extract, Gl Strand, Copenhagen 2013.
